Has anyone ever used Hy-per lube super coolant?

I saw this stuff online and was wondering if anyone has tried it and if it has worked. I am a bit hesitant to try it out.

Its soap.

This allows cooling systems using a 50 / 50 mix of antifreeze and water to run 6 to 8 degrees cooler, and racing applications using straight water to run 20 degrees cooler.
Thats not possible if the thermostat is functioning properly.

May just contain a wetting agent. I would stay away. I think it's allowable to add a wetting agent yourself to your present antifreeze mixture.

Call or email a company rep for your brand of anti freeze. If possible he should have enough knowledge to reccomend or discourage it.

If you want some additional heat transfer reduce the antifreeze water ratio to the lowest safe value for your area. Basically the water component transfers heat better than the antifreeze component.

If you seem to have an overheating problem try chasing the cause. It usually only becomes worse with time otherwise. A normal system should function well enough if problems are not present.

I just read the ad and believe it is just a wetting agent. it provides somewhat more contact of coolant to metal or heat transfer. Very useful for cars to reducing hot spots sometimes depending on their cause. There is no history that I am aware of their being abnormal hot spots in these older diesel engines if not scaled up badly.

The thermostat maintains a minimum temperature. Even a properly functioning thermostat has its limitations when it comes to controlling maximum temps.

I run poly gycol sraight.boiling point is over 300 degrees, freezing minus 40 degrees. better for cavitation, stops hot spots.
old anti freeze is so out dated, like kerosene in Model Ts.

Use the correct coolant/water mix per the manual. If you want to help cooling a bit, try RedLine WaterWetter a tried-and-true product, or RedLine Diesel WaterWetter (more of a concentrated big-diesel product).

And I agree with Barry, if you have a cooling problem, better to fix it than mask the symptoms as it'll get worse.

Thats very bad for your engine. Straight coolant has 1/3 the heat carrying capacity of water and 1/2 of a proper 50/50 mix!

Your engine will seize long before it gets to 300*f and I seriously doubt Tennessee will be seeing -40* winters any time soon (The lowest was -32 back in 1917).

I had planned on using it for years in my SDL when I got it on the road again, but I overran my budget.

incorrect, just because its German doesn't mean it meets the guidelines set forth by Mercedes Benz to be used in its engines for cooling.

I don't care about their guidelines. If I can run a zero psi cap,I'm going with new tech.
