Power steering issue 83 300d

I was recently out of town and I let my younger brother pick up my 83 from the shop. To make a long story short he added automatic transmission fluid into the power steering resovoir, after noticing that my power steering fluid level was low. Any suggestions on what I should do at this point? Outside of never letting him touch my car again.

What does your owner's manual specify for use in the power steering system?

ATF is the recommended fluid for those systems. If it originally had the ATF........you're good.

Some of us have flushed and replaced the fluid with power steering fluid due to the change in composition of the current Dexron fluid and the propensity to leak.

Maybe, your little brother is smarter than you think and he is already researching the MB's on this site......

Think of it as, He is taking after his wise, sage, older brother.....
