Question Instrument cluster tank res light not working

Hey all, I just pulled out my instrument cluster on my 1970 220D and I replaced the bulb for the brake light as well as the one for the gen light, when I got to the tank res warning light; It just for some reason won't light up. I tried the other bulbs, but for some reson it won't. Which sucks cause I want that warning light to work, I could care less if the brake light worked. any suggestions?

Common problem usually caused by gunk in the tank sensor. Often remedied by removing and cleaning the sensor in the tank.

Isn't the light supposed to come anyway, regardless of weather the sensor is working when the key is in position 2? Or is it the gunk on the sensor which I know is a big possibility....

I just thought the light was supposed to come on regardless which led me to believe that no power/connection is being made.

If it turns out to be the gunk part, how do I go about cleaning the sensor? Thanks

Startron

Pour the whole 8 Oz. in your tank,It will set up an Enzyme factory that Kills
all the Fungus in your tank and reduces the remains to such a small size that
they pass harmlessly through the Filters and burn up in the engine.

Fixes..

Mine didnt work eather had about 2" of sludge at bottom of sender capsule.

U can take it out and push it down to bottom and see if it's the light or the gunk.

Chances are it's gunk over years it settles in the capsule 99% of time i've heard this being the problem on here.

Ok, so i'm convinced now that it is clogged up. But how do I go about cleaning it? Do I take it out and clean it somehow or do I buy Diesel additive stuff?

Thanks everyone

Fuel Level Sender

'Because the sender lives in an Aluminum tube with a TINY hole in the Bottom
to allow the fuel to drain out (As Tank Levels Lower),
ANY FUNGUS infestation tends to clog the hole and inhibit Startron's cleansing action(In the tube) (No Exit).
['Same "Clogging" prevents any commercial Biocide from functioning (in the Tube)]

You MAY have to take the sender out (Disassemble) and clean it.
CAUTION: The sender is a very precise Ohm(Resistance) measuring piece of
"GEAR", TLC is of paramount importance!

The use of Startron will eliminate the current Infestation...If you regularly
purchase contaminated fuel, regular 1Oz. doses of Statron (per tankful)will provide elimination.
