Bad clutch line?
Hey all, was just curious
![]() As i'm told by my mechanic my clutch line is about to go out and that it's leaking brake fluid, which it is. I'm so fed up with this mechanic that i'm about to take it to someone else and have this fixed. My question is: Is it a hard job? I think that is where i'm loosing pressure when the brakes start slowly sinking in, which is weird cause if I let go fast and depress the pedal fast, it holds film, but if I go on the pedal slowly it starts sinking in. This is the last issue that the car has other then a power steering fluid leak, leaky injector, and newer tires on the rear.

well, where is the brake fluid leaking from? If your leaking brake fluid, then the soft pedal is certainly from the leak.
If the mechanic says the clutch line is about to go, he/she probably found a wear spot. You should take a peak. maybe if you put a clamp on the line to stop if from rubbing on stuff it will last a while longer. Obviously if its to far gone your gonna have to replace it..

The behavior of your brake pedal suggests the brake master cylinder is shot.
