IIRC, there used to be a color or number code on the back of the speedo assemblies to indicate the axle ratios they can be used with.

It's the K number, on that little sticker stuck to the back of them.
3.46 says k=1330. If I recall correctly, the 3.07 was k=1200.

3.69 is k=1425 and 2.88 would be around 1100.

So, is that kilometer=revolutions?

I do have a W1155 embossed on the back of the unit, but I am sure that has nothing to do with it. IIRC, I pulled this complete dash (with 160 mph speedo) from a 116 (V8) car with a 2.something axle...Robert
