I'll spray the mud out off my Chevy!

I still think I have a 420SEL badge in the basement, maybe I'll stick it on the tailgate...no one will know the difference.

I'm in. tbomachines, where you at? Might be able to throw you a hand getting the car ready.....as long as I can get my maintenance issues done.

Thank you, I appreciate the gesture! The car is in Rocky Hill (parents garage). The biggest issue is that I don't feel at all confident driving it anywhere yet. I just got new tires put on last week so it'll actually be able to go on the road now, but inevitable more problems to diagnose. I already know the swaybar links need to be replaced, another weird grinding in the rear right (parking brake?), and plenty of valve/timing adjustment issues. It's a lot of little things, but I wouldn't take it on the highway or down to New Haven like it is. I've got a few days off from work that week so maybe I'll be able to drive up and work on it for the weekend. Again, thank you for the offer, likewise to you if I'm in the area good sir!

I'm 75% being able to come to this meet. My 240D and 300D runs great but look like junk. Are faded paint rust buckets allowed?

Which one to bring? 240D or 300D? 240D has a sweet motor (0-to 60 in 17.5 sec) but lot's of rust- and I am thinking of selling it. 300D runs on grease with a sweet WVO conversion. Anyone else coming with a WVO conversion?

GTG

I asked for this day off but we'll see if I get it. This is also assuming it passes inspection today... or the next couple of weeks...

Wanna talk rust buckets and faded paint? Just wait until you see mine I'm really hoping I can make it to this, I just want to drive it around for a bit before committing to New Haven and I don't get back to CT until that week. I'm at 80% right now.

Good because I have a few questions about WVO....My father runs his VW TDI on that without any modifications to the car and to my annoyance he poured some of it into my half full tank the other week. (I only found out the next day when I opened the window and thought I had a restaurant following me around)

One tanking on WVO is not a practice I would condone. As far as your Dad making a 50/50 blend of diesel and WVO in your Benz, it's probably ok in the summer time but I would not recommend it long term. If you see more smoke at startup than normal, that's a sign that the blend is too high in WVO and you should add more diesel to dilute it..

There was a forum member at the last gtg who had a diesel timing device. I forget his name. Is he going to be at this gtg?

Anyone have injectors they want pop tested? I can bring my pop tester.

Not sure, I sent a bunch of PM's to all the people who went last year and I need to update the list (He had a yellow W123 I believe?)

Ok word of ignorance....whats pop testing? (I do know that one of my injectors seems to be leaking a bit.....related?)

The ones currently in my car could use a pop test You'll know who's coming when you hear the nailing a mile away
