Thinking about C Class CDi - any good?

Hi folks,

i own a 14 year old W124 300 Diesel, one of the last ones made. Its superb, never misses a beat , costs me nothing and has done 205k miles. Due to a job change (i will be on the road visiting businesses selling) i need a more up to date 'exec' style vehicle purely for the image (otherwise i would be sticking with the W124). I dont really need the space of the E class but do want an estate/wagon style (active lifestyle etc) and i definitely want diesel but with some performance. What do people think of an C320 CDi Auto Estate say 3 or 4 years old ?

Any experiences to share., good or bad? Especially interested in running costs, weak points or models/ engines to avoid. I will be having it maintained by my local Merc indie naturally.
thanks
Keith

I was in Copenhagen, Denmark in February and almost every taxi is a MBZ CDI. It costs about 1.2M Danish Kroner ( US$214K ) each. Tax is 300% in Denmark. It is a lot of money.

The driver told me the resale value is good even with high mileage on taxi, so it should hold up well with your business travel and good on fuel economy.

They will run. Even the A class w/ CDI will run. I'm 200lbs and my friend (owns the A car) is well over that and we easily cruised the autobahn at 140km/h sustained. IIRC it's a 1.7L turbo.

The question is can you get that C class with lots of detailed service records?
