Plastic Part on Top of Transmission?

Can someone ID this plastic part on top of the transmission. It seems to be disconnected and I think it may be an electrical connection. Also, the transmission connection at the left of the picture is loose. Is this replaceable/fixable?

Thanks,
bigmaq

The control rod on the left is missing it's bushing. It's an easy fix.

I don't know about the plastic piece.

Hmm...my reverse lights don't work, but I thought the Neutral Safety Switch controlled the reverse lights.
