Removing center console 85 300SD

I am trying to remove the center console on my 85 300SD. The left front and right rear power windows don't work and I replaced the fuses. So far I removed the cover for the shifter and removed the 2 screws behind the lever. I removed the ashtray and the radio, the cover for the heater controls etc, r and removed the two screws just below the dash board at the front of the console. It is loose but I cannot get it to move. Is there anything else holding it that I can't find or could it just be stuck due to age.

Thanks

What's the reason to remove the console? If you're after the switches, they pull out from the top.

The center wood piece slides forward after the ashtray and plastic piece below it are removed.

There is a screw under the carpeting in the area that should have been a cupholder.

w126s console removal......and

Remove the ashtray.
Remove the 2 (only screws to be removed) screws under the ashtray holding the ashtray "frame" into the middle console.
Remove the ashtray "frame".
Somewhere in here you need to apply the emergency brake (hope it holds or you) and shift into D or 2
Remove the coin tray, carefully -- it has 2 tabs that "fit" into the leading edge of the console wood. And there is a lip on the console wood.
The console wood has clips under it. It has to slide forward about 1/2 inch and then it raises up.
Unplug connectors on the bottom of the console wood as necessary.

I think I have done everything suggested, except perhaps the screw under the carpet where the cupholder should have been. It felt like there was something else holding it that I couldn't find. I assume the cupholder area is under the arm rest. Is that correct? I found a cut out area in that spot but can't see a screw in there. The cut out area seems to have been done by someone, not factory.

It sounds like you're after the switches. They pull out from the top, but the easier way is to perform all of the above steps (to loosen the panel) then push them through from the bottom.

There should be a screw under the carpet there. Did you get the two on the sides in the carpet up forward?

IF you want to remove the ENTIRE console, there is a screw at the top on each side behind the row of toggle switches above the ACC.

I think the ones in the carpet up front are the ones I am missing. It feels like there is something up front holding it. I have removed the ones above the AC controls.

the tube for the vent runs under there, and needs to be disconnected
