240d oil leak
Yes I have noticed a large oil leak, it appears to be coming from three maybe four places,
1.valve cover is leaking 2.where the egr valve mounts to the engine its leaking 3. there are some rubber hoses that that go from the top of the valve cover to the (intake manifold?) first it goes to a round thing and then to an Intake manifold? these have cracks and are leaking a bit there they meet at the valve cover and intake manifold? About these hoses where do I get them ( its not one piece but has elbows and turns almost like a houses plumbing) 4. maybe at the front of of the engine crankshaft My question is do I need any special tools for any of this? and where do I get these elbows and hoses? |

if you do not know proper terminology for the items you refer to, then you must provide a picture for any useful insight.

Possible translation:
Messy 240D engine, oil everywhere. Cracked breather, blowby throughout engine compartment. Ask for crankcase breather. Looks like it's leaking under the EGR box on the top of the valve cover, but that's just where the oil is collecting, no thru holes there. If it's leaking here, valve cover may be cracked. Weld or replace. Possible valve cover gasket, could be loose, could be leaky. Snug it up, about 10 ftlb, I think. Front crankshaft seal. Puller may be required for seal ring on crankshaft. Often said, never wrong, clean the engine, drive it, look for the wet spot. Oil use not contributing to a wet spot may be blowby.
