Bottom window bracket rusted

My 1981 240D rear pass. window bracket. The piece that goes on the bottom of the window and holds the rubber on is rusted out. Is it possible to buy just that piece or would some one have a good used one to sell me.Thanks Bob

Got one. Take a pic of it so I know exactly what you need.

I don't think it is possible to replace the metal channel and reuse the rubber insert. I just tried to salvage one metal holder and an old piece of glass, and the pressure one would need to exert to seat that glass seemed too high and would probably shatter the glass. I think they must have crimped the metal over the glass and rubber at the factory. I ended up setting the glass in some old butyl calking I had- I don't know if that is good enough for an electric window but for a manual one it seems to work fine.

I've sent several of those to other forum members. Good, mostly rust free parts here in the "Mid South".

I had the same problem with most of my window regulators when I pulled them. I ended up shattering one of the door glass because it just wouldnt come loose. All the others came out just fine.

I've got one with the glass. I'm a ways away though. I wouldn't trust shipping it. I'll be in NOVA this weekend.

Nah, the window's aren't hard to change. Take out the regulator first, and the trim on the bottom of the window frame, and they practically walk themselves out.
