Diesel cheaper than gas?

Whats going on?

Is it because of the greedy owners that they raised the price of gas, as we aproach Memorial Day? Diesel has been creeping up in the last two weeks, but now diesel is $2.299 and 87 oct gas is $2.359!

Are you seeing this where you are?

We only have one station in town, and it only sells those two fuel products.

It's fairly typical for the diesel to go down in the summer and up in the winter, however the last few years have not been typical.

Yes, I see it here in NJ, diesel is cheaper than regular gasoline. Maybe price of diesel has not cought up with RUG yet.

I've seen Diesel as cheap as 2.12 a gallon earlier this week here in Metro detroit, but i'm sure it will be closer to 2.30 for the "summer opener" weekend, however, unleaded regular is over 2.40 at several stations.

hopefully, finally - diesel will be cheaper than gas for a while!

At the exact same station yesterday.
Gas 2.39
Diesel 2.23

It has been cheaper here for about 3 weeks straight.

I have been keeping an eye on diesel vs gas prices. I went on vacation last week to PA. I also went down to DC for a day. I did see diesel for $2.19 at a few places, one outside of DC. Gas was roughly $2.25 to $2.30. It was $2.13 at a Hess near New Cumberlan PA. I went fishing and it went up to $2.15, it was $2.25 by the end of the week. I see gas for about $2.45 in Columbus,IN. I see diesel about $2.30 at the same station. I think I saw $2.19 for diesel at Murphy's (walmart). I drove the 240D to work today. I think there might be other factors going on. I think the dollar is a bit stronger than it has been in the past 5 years. I think the US has limited refining capacity for diesel, or the older plants are hard to switch over. So the US buys on the international market. I heard there is a new refinery that opened near St. Loius, MO.

I remember back in the early 80's my Father bought a rabbit diesel, as not only did it get great mileage per gallon, but, it was cheaper too . . . that did not last long though . . .

I currently only buy diesel for the school bus I drive, as soon as my amputated finger heals enough to wrench again, (Hopefully in a few more weeks . . .) I have to change the plugs & an exhaust gasket on my gasser p/u. then sell it, so I can get a diesel MB!

Its cheaper here in Upstate NY as well. $2.53 for gas $2.44 for diesel. My 01 Ranger gets about 19 mpg so the 240D is definitely become more of a "daily driver".

I'm so sick of the taxes in this state. Look at our price compared to yours.

I'm paying 2.23$ at a 76 here in Southern California, which is really good. Just hope it stays that way.

I am still finding diesel for about $2.15-2.20 around here....the real killer was filling the thirsty 300E yesterday, it had laid down on "R"...took 15.1 gallons of premium at $2.69 a gallon.... Way more than diesel! And due to driving around the city with A/C on for most of that tank it only got 18mpg....

I saw diesel here in Richmond VA for $1.98 a week or so ago @ an 'East Coast' station, they always seem to be significantly cheaper than any other stations

HA! Here in Toronto we're paying 97 cents for a litre of regular, 75 cents for a litre of diesel!!!!

Now convert that to gallons, and tell me who's getting it dry up the you-know-what.

Same here, on the other side of MI. $2.19 for diesel and $2.49 for RUG, at my nearest station.
