Speedometer stopped working

Not an hour after posting how the 220 did awesome in Riverside, the speedometer stops working lol -_- Also did a search but didn't find anything.

I pulled out the cluster and disconnected the cable and drove around to see if the pin inside was moving. It's not and I don't know where the other end of the cable is. Did it just get disconnected?

Jordaan,
Check DieselGiant for speedo repair writeup. I had to pull the number wheels on my '83 and scarify the shaft. Keep tape on the wheels to maintain their relative positions. Also you might carefully clean the numbers with a watered down mild cleaner. The oil on my hands wiped some of the accumualted grime off, after installing I noticed and did this after pulling again. Makes a diff at night with the poor lighting of the cluster.

Best of luck,

From what you describe that is possible. Either that or the cable has broken inside the housing.

Check to be sure it is still hooked up to the tranny first. If so, pull the cable out of the car and inspect it on both ends. When you spin one end the other should spin as well. If not, replace the cable.

I'd definitely say cable is broken inside housing if the center is not spinning.

Cessna, that fix is for the odometer.

If you drove and it didn't spin, check connection to the transmission. If its connected, time for a new cable!

??? Top of the page. All Parts Express has it for $52.

You may be able to find it cheaper if you shop it around. I saw it as low as $43 at some other places.

It's easy to install.
