Cheap Trans Fluid

Guys , last year when I first got my 1983 300cd I had trans flare , I did valve body spring kit and refilled the box with regular dex/merc auto parts crappy stuff ... that was the fix .
Thats was in for a year and not a problem .
I had some good mobil dex/merc and did a trans service feeling I should have put the good stuff in .
Good stuff is in and now it's slipping second to third if I am on it hard ...once the trans warms up its fine .
I guess I am going back to the cheap stuff ...I still have a half a case of the stuff I put in last year .

Its like a cheap date that likes Mc'Ds ...LOL

You should fix the transmission instead.

I was told that any Dexron III rated Transmission Fluid will do.

With that said, I stopped by Walmart just to check if they have anything rated at Dexron III. I found this Supertech brand trans fluid that can be used Universally on Dexron III and other stuff.... Would any of you get this? Or should I just stop by the Autozone close to home and pick up something more specific?

You can get a gallon of generic Dex III at AAP for $8. How much cheaper do you want?

I did the spring kit ... I have been running for the past few days , once its warmed up its fine ... I'm going to dump the mobil and I still have 6 qts from the case last year with I put the spring kit in .
I had a 2001 F350 and you could not run the dex III in the transmissions , they were blowing up .
I can stand into WOT and she's fine once its warmed up ... I'll keep you posted .

Thanks guys
