I need W123 sunroof pictures
My front sunroof seal lip has rusted off in both corners. Does anyone have any pictures of what it should look like so that I can fab in a new piece of metal so my seal stays in place? Thanks
I have searched the forums and found no sunroof pictures like I need.

I need pics of the piece of metal that the seal holds onto. This can only been seen if you pull the seal out.

Ah ha! good thread! I pulled the sunroof and did the rear seal a few months ago. I bought the front seal. But, chickened out after reading the horror stories. Plus now it is the rainy season. I'll probably wait till Oct./Nov. now.
Pics would be great if someone has them. That would make a good pinned DIY thing for the resources section.

the front seal is the easiest part..
I need to do the side / fluffy ones - doesn't that require dropping the entire unit? Use silicone spray on your new rubber, it goes right in. Use a plastic spatula / spreader (sold in paint stores)

the side seals just slide in. No need to pull the sunroof out.

Is your entire lip gone? If you have any left, it all looks the same except there is a gap of about 1.5 cm in the center. On my seal there was a section molded in the center to fill the gap.
BTW I used slickum to install my front seal. It is a veggie oil based lubricant used to pull wires through conduit. I don't think I could have managed without it.

Thanks, that shows exactly what I needed. I can't believe that your in VA and im in FL and my sunroof rusts out while yours doesn't show any signes of rust.

I think I got it from the second owner. Must have been a doctor or nurse's offspring or something, had a hospital parking sticker on it, and the typical college stickers. My sunroof is clean, but the floors are another story. Hence the death at 148k. Glad I could help, sorry for the quality. I have them bigger if you need.
