it would definitely be zippier then your 220, with a nice high top end speed to boot, but make sur ethe 5th gear is not reverse. Even a 4spd with those miles would be worth it in my opinion

for 2800 you could still buy it, swap the 5 for a 4 and resell it and get a free 5 speed

not much power, priced WAY too high, and probably is just an incorrectly badged 240 with a 4 speed.

where can i see it, please?

I wouldn't buy that car on principle. I hate sellers that do that kind of crap.

"Oh...a few people want it. Let's jack up the price."

If a seller lists something at a price, that is what he should be asking...not "Well it is actually more now."

I like the plastic tray or liner for the back hatch area. I wonder if that was a factory, aftermarket or home built item?

I hate you you made me go look into the S.F. bay area CL. I found a 85 cali, silver black int. 156K for $5K. one owner. It is a copy of mine, but much younger in miles. I would give my left n__ for it.

I have an 81 240D with a 4 spd. I think it has good power for flat land. I have had it on the highway at probably 70 mph. It does get a bit noisey. It could definately use a 5th gear for the highway. Even for the country roads I dive on, it could use a 5th or overdrive gear. I think it does well in town. Not slow, but I'm not going to try and race anybody either. I think the 300D would be a more power. If you have hills, then I'd see how it does on them. It it doesn't have any rust, and has been well maintained, then that might not be a bad price. Rust and a lot of maintenance work add $$ up fast. Mine has minimal rust, but needed a lot of parts. I have probably twice that price in parts alone.

I've had my stepdads auto 240 to 85mph as well as my friends 4spd 240d to 85. My stepdads sounded happy where the manual was ready to create a blackhole.
