300d driveshaft orientation of hubs

i have taken apart the driveshaft, un-coupled the splined center so i could replace the center bearing and support. now i am faced with a delema. . .
how should i orient the end hubs (when assembling the splines)to each other ? are they suppose to be exactly the same or are they suppose to be 1/3 turn different ? ? ? ? ?

help, its getting dark here in about an hour and i want to get it together tonite.

The splines must be reinstalled in the exact same position as they were removed...........because the driveshaft was balanced in that configuration.

yep, and on a 1983 300D the shaft should be marked with a little notch on the front half, and a \ / mark on the u-joint, the notch should line up in the center of that mark on the u-joint.

I forgot about this recently and put one together a few splines off, sure enough it vibrated.....I pulled it back apart, lined it up, and now its vibration free.
