Odd fuel problem on my car.

I can start the car and drive it and it runs like a champ. If I turn off the car and try to start it again it takes forever to catch and then is super slow to rev and zero power. I can then turn off the car and start it again and it runs like a champ. I did adjust the rack dampener this weekend and have since adjusted and readjusted and even used one from one of my spare pumps. I need to hook up a fuel pressure gauge to make sure its not the lift pump, the car did idle for a few hours at low fuel tank this weekend. Any other suggestions? Problem ONLY happens when turning off the car, not during drive.

Did a bad batch of diesel come out of the refineries or something?

Try pulling the vacuum line off the shut off valve and see if it cures the problem. Could be your ignition switch is not completely releasing the vacuum.

I just posted on another thread about a similar situation that started this weekend on a long trip.

After running at higher speeds when I come to a stop there will be no power for 5-10 minutes and the engine died once or twice. This started halfway through a long trip.... After 5-10 minutes the power suddenly returns. Fairly new fuel filters and tested vent issues by removing the fuel cap. Plus highway power would imply that these are not issues.

If I keep the speed 65mph or less it may be a little sluggish but there isn't the complete loss of power. Plenty of power on the highway.

Car was running fine on Friday. Schedule maintenance is up to date.

I would consider the possibility of a bad batch of fuel as well as other things.
