engine shocks

I'm going to replace the engine shocks in my 93 300D to hopefully correct some vibration. I could'nt seen to find any on Fast Lane or Allparts. does anyone know where the best place is to get them?

Do you mean engine mounts? My '87 300D (W124, OM603) doesn't have engine shocks that I know of, although my '85 300D (W123, OM617) does. Maybe the 5-cylinder engines need them because of the balance problem that you don't get in a six?

I ordered mine from Carquest.Be sure it is not the upper shock mount. That was my problem at 245,000 miles.Shocks are still good at 312000 miles.

I don't think the 93 had an engine strut. On OM617s there were rubber motor mounts and a support strut (called a torque strut I believe) on the turbo side. If you are looking for the rubber mounts, I know Napa has them for the 93, I'd be surprised if Phil didn't have them. Perhaps you could try and describe what you mean in more detail, or take a picture and we may be more useful.

My apologies if this strays too far off topic, but is there a way to determine whether excess vibration is caused by bad engine mounts or bad engine shocks on the 85?
