Sedan Motor into a wagon?

Will the OM617 from my '85 sedan be a suitable replacement for a w123 wagon with SLS? ie will the sedan's motor accomodate the SLS pump at the front of the engine?

The 1985 versions of the OM 617 had small changes -IIRC- from earlier versions that may need attention. Not a major concern.

Sensors mainly. Won't hurt to leave them unplugged. There are two similar looking ones (one of which is 85-only) that you probably don't want to plug the wrong thing into.

the tach sensor is in a diffferent location, but the earlier tach pickup is there too...
also the cam is different, and the EGR switch is electronic... aside from that, there are some additional vacuum controls and such on the car, but not motor related...
it's odd, in the location where the sls pump goes, is a hole, and the gear is inside, but the boss is not present to mount the pump.
I think it's been said, you can put on an electric pump, or rig up the ps/sls belt driven pump from an 87...

If you need a w123 SLS pump, I've got one or two.
