I plan to spend the July 4 holiday period ripping the cracked old dash out of my '87 300D Turbo (W124, OM603) and replacing it with an uncracked and freshly painted dash. (From an '89 300E, $34 at Pick and Pull)

SEM's "Shadow Blue" is a remarkably close match to the factory dark blue color. I don't think anyone will be able to tell. The new dash was originally black. I gave it quite a few coats, used up an entire spraycan.

While I have the dash off, I'll be replacing all seven pods in the climate control system with new ones and modifying the plumbing so that the center vent is open for heat as well as a/c. Everything else under there is in good shape . . . I sure hope there aren't any surprises.

I expect the rest of you to stay home close to your computers in case I need any help. I'll take lots of pictures.
