If it's anything like my military grade Nextel it's going to be a lot toucher than your standard "singular" or "AT&T" grade motor oil, but you won't get reception anywhere near the motor

Eh....military engines have pretty much the same tolerances as kids building blocks.....I'll stick with my Rotella.

Where did you even buy it? A military surplus outlet?

Military specification diesel oil is MIL-L-2014 (I don't know the rev. letter, years ago it was "D," so it was MIL-L-2104D). Rotella was one, Mobil Delvac was one, etc. Military diesels are not built worse than any other Cummins, Cat, Detroit, etc. If it's a current MIL-L-2104 oil, it'll be fine.

The QPL shows that Safety Kleen is one of the major suppliers of that oil.

From all of my work experience, stuff sold to the taxpayer (regardless of country) comes off the same production line, may get extra inspection (definitely gets billed for extra inspection), gets fancy packaging, and the price goes up by 4X. One example, NASA buys the same semiconductors that your car radio has, I used to make them.

And then the "stuff" is mismanaged to the point of being declared surplus and sold for pennies on the dollar. You can bet that at the same time this oil was being sold, an office full of civil servants was negotiating contracts to buy more.
