Boxy's maiden voyage!
I'm setting out this afternoon for a trip from CT (Hartford area) to PA. It is about 250-300 miles of mostly two-lane highways. I'll be heading across CT, crossing the Hudson near Tarrytown and taking back roads through the Poconos and down to Philly where my apartment is. Normally I'd take the NJ turnpike but there are few places to pull over should anything happen.
I'm concerned about my fuel filters, I changed it 2 days ago but I'm running through tanks of Soltron (Biobor equivalent) so they are getting clogged with newly freed fungi pretty easily. I'm also a bit wary of my oil pressure. My guage is almost constantly pegged above 3 if it isn't idling. I'd guess anything above 2500rpm is above 3, idle is around 1. My gut tells me it shouldn't be that high, but the car is running well, not leaking or anything. Everything else checks out okay--I've got a decent tool set in my passenger area, 2 sets of belts in the trunk (PO left a set, I bought a new set), 6 inline fuel filters, a bunch of random parts, and a can-do attitude. Also, I wish I could make either the Northeast or PA GTG, but I have to sort stuff out with my landlord and bills and all that ![]() Just a quick question really: What are your oil pressures--is it normally above 3? It has been like this since I got the car in January. I remember seeing a poll here but I couldn't find the thread after 45 minutes of searching. Thanks! --TC
