quick AC line question, should I replace this line?

this line from the front coil to the dryer rotates at the marked joint, is this correct? my feeling is it needs to be replaced. I have it all ready to re-assemble but I want to see if I should go buy this line. thanx

It needs to go. You may be able to take that to a shop and get a new flexible line crimped on. If you do, be sure of the orientation of the two ends, because when it's done right, it won't twist at all.

Matt offers great advice here. Rotate the hose into its correct orientation before removing it and then MARK both ends of the hose and fittings so that if it rotates after or during removal, the hose shop can tell how it is supposed to back together.

thats what I thought, darnit. is this line something I can get at advance?

Probably not Advanced. NAPA maybe.

turns out the reason my compressor fell off is that the bolts are broken off in the compressor, so its toast. is NAPA or advanced cheaper for compressors?

Don't be "Throwing Away" that compressor just yet!

If you cannot "drill and easy out" the Headless bolts a machinest may be able to

Actually I am a journeyman toolmaker. when the bolts broke they wallowed out the threads at the opening of the hole, the ezout/bolt would have to pass by the bad threads. I learned over time not to futz with EZ outs when the threads are buggared. I got a reman for $168. I also got a new short line at the PNP an hour ago.
