A/C removal
I'm thinking that I might stand to gain a bit of performance if I remove the a/c system from my 240D, since it never gets used anyhow. Does anyone know whether the engine will run better without it? Does anyone need these parts?

Just disconnect the wire that kicks in your AC clutch on the compessor. Engine will no longer have to pull extra. I noticed on my 300d that the compressor kicking in has almost no effect on RPMs at idle. Must be all the torque. You might wan't to reconsider as the AC dries the air on defrost and aids in defogging the windows. I pulled the belt of my Ford pickup last winter and ended up putting it back on because of the fog problem. It makes a difference.
