Windsor (NorCal) Pick and Pull update
Visited today (north of Santa Rosa, California). Highlights:
Several 1970's W116 cars (280S. 280E, 450SE, etc.) Unusual to see so many. 1974 240D with engine and manual transmission, looked complete. Only diesel in the yard. Shift knob so badly damaged I couldn't tell whether it was a 4-speed or a 5-speed. Since I've never driven one, I don't know the shift pattern. It seemed to row through the gears just fine, I just could tell whether it had three rows or two. The car's interior was pretty worn out. 1989 300E (junkyard labeled "300S") with perfect uncracked dash in either dark gray or black. 8th car in row 0067. Just one of several W124 cars. Two older (1970s) SLs and a couple of coupes, looked 80s-ish. Coupes are unusual to find in a junkyard. The usual pile of picked-over 1980s SD models (W126). Several W201s in various stages of disassembly. Jeremy
