300 sdl questions

Afternoon all. I have a few more questions about these cars.
1. Did these come from the factory with block heaters? if so where would i locate connection

2. It looks like to replace the front pads i need to pop out the two pins on top of the caliper. Is that the only thing holding them in?

3. Cruise control- when i drove the car car home a few weeks ago it worked. It has not since any ideas?

I am waitng for the two service manuels i ordered to show up but i am off the rest of the week with nothing to do

So far i have nothing bad to say about it. For a 23 year old car that sat for 18 months it still has very good road manners. The next major thing is I am going to be replacing all of the bushing on front end along with new shocks followed by an all whell alignment. Averageing around 25-27mpg running 70 mph back and forth to work. 66 mile a day. Does that number seem about right?

they came with block heaters. Look on the passenger side of the block, there should be the cable leading somewhere up front. Probably by the tow hook.

To remove the pads the pins have to come out, wear eye protection because the spring sometimes likes to fly out if you do not pay attention. Then its standard operating procedure to remove them

flakey cruise control is typical espcially if its the original unit

you can get a rebuilt cruise amp for around $160 from benz store in atlanta, that fixed mine. but google GDL benz cruise and do their test to ensure the actuator is not drawing more than 1 amp.

for the Cruise amp, if you know how to use a soldering iron, you might try to "re flow" the circuit card in the Box. That may clear up your intermittent cruise operation.

There is a block heater installed, but the cord may have never been installed. A new one is like $17.

looked at the passenger side front and found a two pronged plug electrical taped off. Could this be the other end of the block heatrer?
