1981 300SD Dash Light

What is the light in between the battery and brake lights on the dash? It is the one with the circle and the six lines around it. I can't remember if it is for the brake pads or if it means the battery is not charging. I think some wires got crossed in my brain, but eitherway, it came on yesterday and the light has been varying in intensity since.

I thought so, as I remember messing the sensors up when I changed my pads a couple months ago! Thanks!

The sensors MUST be replaced everytime pads are, assuming the light came on.

Yeah, I tried to slide them back in the slots on the new brakes. At the time I didn't think they were still good, but I figured I know when to change the brakes without the light. I'm going to check them anyway and see if I can get the light off Saturday when I change my oil. I'm also getting my pads from Phil next time instead of the 'zone.

You can reuse the sensors several times if you remove them carefully from the brake pads. I have been doing this since 1984. Bet I have not purchased more than four sets of them in that time.

Are the sensors in the rear, too?

Exposed wire on the passenger side sensor, bent it and moved it a little, now the light is off! Still got a hell of a lot of pad left! Thanks for your help, guys!
