Just moved to Melbourne, FL...need parts

I just moved and let a friend borrow my car to drive down here. Long story short, he wrecked it and the front pass. quarter panel, grill, head light, and front subframe are toast. Are there any junk yards around here that might have a silver w123 that I could use as a doner?

I wouldn't be in such a hurry, but I need to drive the car and can't do it without the headlight...and can't put a headlight in the way it is.

Are the quarter panels for the coupes the same as the sedans? I am pretty sure I already know the answer to this but what about a 240? If not, I'm screwed!

I assume your friend survived the accident. Did he survive the conversation with you, afterwards?

can ship

I can ship most parts. Let me know if you want something. I try to be reasonable with my costs.

I am far too upset about this to start yelling. All that work I put into it...what a waste.

Thanks. The most important things are headlights, grill, chrome, quarter panel, and front subframe. Most are too large to bother shipping.

Good luck. I have been to about all of them over here. I have yet to find even 1 D or SD. Since your close, maybe try some salvage yards over towards Orlando. Its not that much of a drive from Melbourne.

Is Jacksonville too far?

Sorry Erik to hear that. Just bummed for ya.
Are you able to get an insurance claim?

If not, hopefully you can find a donor car locally.

I just shipped a w126 passenger side fender on Monday night to brandlj --- ask him about the box.

And last month, I shipped a front bumper to Long Island, NY to user who needed a good bumper for his 300SDL.

No dice on insurance...it was his fault (liability only), looking for a doner as we speak.

Daw, do you have a silver w123 for a doner?

Also, does anybody know for sure that these parts will be interchangeable from a 300D or a 240D?

The body parts should all interchange among w123s. Now, coupes are completely different.

I'll take pics today IF I get a chance.

Thanks, JimmyL.
If I recall, I sent you a solid w123 battery tray and maybe an SLS valve to do some experimenting.

Too bad. The front body parts will interchange. The only issue is pre-81 the fenders are glued to the body along with having the regular bolts holding them. So removing them is a pain. So I would try to stick with the '82 to '85 model years.
