My dashboard light recently stopped working, and the check engine light is also on constantly, flickering intermittently. My first thought was a bad fuse since the problems occurred at the same time, but the fuses look good. This is a 1983 300D/W123-EURO.

You really need to read your manuals my friend
The third symbol over is BRAKE PADS wearing down.
Just replace your front brake pads + sensors and the "check engine light" will be sorted.

And the trip reset knob brightens/ dims the dash illumination. Is it turned all the way down?
