50 Cetane made a huge differnce, I think?

I just filled my car up with 50 cetane gas from a local truckstop and my diesel clatter is almost non-existent. Can going from 43-50 cetane do that or am I imagining things??

Any thoughts, I thought this would have generated a lot of responses.

european passenger diesels were generally designed to operate on this higher cetane. The cetane, minumum 40 by law, in the U> was designed to accommodate trucks. when I changed toi Amoco diesel (47-50 cetane) several years back in my 1977 240, it made a noticable difference in clatter and power.

50 cetane

I also live in Baltimore and own a 300 sdl. It runs great but I am always looking for ways to improve its performance. Where do you buy your 50 cetane diesel fuel. I have tried Amoco, but feel the car runs better on the 43 Hess. I am not sure what the Amoco diesel is. Thanks

I live in Owings Mills. I was buying gas at Hees, but I tried the Amoco at the intersection of 140 and Sandymount. It is on the way to Westminster, about 2 miles befoe the State Police Barracks.
