1987 300TD Window regulator not going all the way up

Hello all, I have a problem with the rear left regulator in that it appears to travel all the way to the top regulator arm and then hums leaving about two inches opened. Detached it works fine going up and down but I cannot figure out why it would travel to the top and leave that gap. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Noel

On my 123 the thin potmetal mounting plate that the Regulator Arm and Motor attach to was warped and bent; resulting in the Regulator Gear Teeth being worn an angle and rounded off.
You will not be able to tell until you pull off the door panel and see what is happening.

Hi Diesel 911, I have removed the motor and it looks a bit bowed on the track that the window raises and lowers on but it looks to be consistent with the shape of the interior door. That was a tremendous repair that you did on the track from your 123 for sure! Thanks, Noel
