Thanks for the heads up. I can't find mine for the moment. I think it will be easier to buy it.

I got one of these years ago at HB...not advertized...manager special ... I already had an Enco at home..but at that price things like router fence adjustments come to mind.. permanent mount... I checked it against feeler gauges and it is well within limits... and mine has a very large and readable face...

edit... forgot to say that if it is shown on their website...just print it off on paper and take it with you to the store.... they honor them... if you have two or more things put them on different pieces of paper... they take them like coupons and want them single..

One of the easier things you can do on an earlier car is look for play on a wheel hub and then adjust it properly, so the bearings aren't too tight (bad) or too loose (also bad).

Front and rear Wheel Bearing Adjustment.

I am not sure if it would work for the 2mm Method to check the Timing Chain Stetch. I think at the least you would need a longer Extension for the Indicator Plunger to get directly over the top of the Valve Spring Retainer.
Maybe someone who has used it for that purpose will chime in.

I think it is good enough for Wheel Bearings.

I used a friend's for checking valve clearance at TDC to determine my chain stretch. Seemed to work consistently after a bit of improvisation, but the magnetic base is kinda useless on and aluminum head...

They are used to tell if something is out of round, not perfectly flat, like a brake rotor, or whether wheel nbearings are loose, which would cause the needle on the dial face to move slightly.

I think the working end has a standard screw thread for this type instrument.. thus I bought a four or six inch extension for mine to reach far enough for the 2mm checking of the chain elongation.

I have seen them at a much higher price also, but this is high end Chinese quality .

If this one on sale is like mine, it is only in inches, not metric. still a great price. buy extras for Christmas stocking stuffers.
