1987 300TD Question; SRS Seat Belt Tensioner

Hello all, I recently purchased this wagon in as is condition after the previous owner left the glow plug relay open, grounded the 80A hot side and melted nearly everything around it. I just got her running and found the SRS light on, I discovered that the two wire plugs were disconnected from the black relay box under the passenger side floor mat. Is there some way I can test the system to determine normal function, I do not want to just hook it back up and hope for the best, any advice would be appreciated. Thanks, Noel Morrow, Ohio

Do you have a picture of the box? Are you sure it is a relay and not the alarm that is unplugged?

Here is a photo

Here is a photo of the box and MB number. You can see the two plugs lying to toward the bottom.

That is your alarm. Mine is sitting in a box in the garage. When we would go on the ferry, the alarm would go off, so I took it out. I don't believe that has anything to do with the SRS.

To lock the doors without setting the alarm, push a button down and close the door.

Electrical component

Thanks for the advice on this item. I was going with the warning on the plastic barrier that covers that module, I missed the indication that it was the "...red ten pole connector" that should be of concern. Thanks so much for your help! Noel , Morrow, Ohio
