Lightbulb AC compressor won't turn OFF! 300sd

Compressor starts turning about 5 sec after starting engine.

ACC control works correctly in 2nd car.

Klima works correctly in 2nd car.

Have you disconnected the plug for the clutch? If it still seems to be engaged, could something have gone wrong to cause a clutch to lock/weld? I've never heard of such a thing but never say never.

What makes you think that the clutch should disengage?

Enlighten me, shouldn't the clutch at least be disengaged when the power is removed? I'm still in the learning process when it comes to the air conditioning system but thought this would be case.

Yes, if there is no power to the clutch coil, the clutch should be disengaged.

Yes, if the POWER is removed by turning off the key or disconnecting the connection, then it should disengage. If it does not this is quite unusual.

It sounded as if you thought that it should cycle like a Chevy.

EC - Still stays on.

ACC - in dash controls

Klima - black box / relay in fuse box, when I do pull it comp does stop.

Compressor starts about 5 seconds after starting, stops when I turn the key off.

I told you all before the Mercedes climate control has a mind of it's own.

That a side follow the power grid.

Arrow Fixed !!!

PO - unlikely, likey Mechanic that replaced the AC compressor used a trailer

wiring connector to bypass? one of the ice cube relays for the aux fan.

Removed connector,AC compressor turns on and off properly, I have

replaced the ACC / PBU

and Klima relay with known good units definately was the problem.

Temp senor in thermostat housing was also bad replaced 4 days before-

started being always on.

About 2 years ago I had a fan relay stick on, and drain the battery, at work,

with key off, came back later - heard fan, wouldn't turn over, jumped +

changed relay at the time.

Need access to wiring below fuses and relays on a 81-85 300sd?

Take off lid, remove 4" ? plastic clamp across top front of fuse box, remove

2 phillips screws in front, right by fuse row! Not 8 mm on base.

TILT UP!

Acees to wires and bottom of connectors.

I have the same problem on my 300d. Compressor won't turn off.

So a new KLIMA, new CCU and temp switch fixed it? Do you have a spare KLIMA?

This car is not a pressure cycling switch type system. The compressor will stay on unless low or high pressures inhibit the circuit. The climate control system regulates temperature with the monovalve, not by cycling the compressor clutch.
