Out side temp read on dash & climate control
Hi,
I noticed one day that my outside temp reading was blank. Then (because of global warming) I had to turn up my heat several times (in July) last week. When I turn the temp wheel back down to blue it stays hot, and sometimes it will go between cold & hot, there is no cool, it's either cold or hot. I'm just wondering if there might be a connection between the climate control, and my outside temp reading. Also, I have noticed some posts on taking out the climate control located around the glove box, but how about the box in the middle of the dash- how would I determine which one is the problem - if it's not the temp sensor. Thanks. Ya'll stay cool. Hugh Sr. 1984 190d 2.2, 133,456 |

No connection between the two.
Failures are common of the CCU (part in the dash), usually caused by a bad auxiliary coolant pump. I've had it slightly melt the bottom cover of the CCU when it took out the CCU.
