Down south we have faded paint & cracked dashes . . . still not "mint", just different "problems" to deal with . . .

Up in the rust belt you get rust & more rust . . .

If you need to sell it, I would take it. Something worth $600 could break tomorrow and you will be kicking yourself.

I sold one '80 TD wagon in similar shape (somewhat nicer paint, but bad AC) for $3500. This was on the tail end of the good ol' days.

Another '82 I sold had the paint falling off, but mechanically superb I sold for $2000 a few months ago.

With that mileage and this economy, you better sell it before she walks. Above 200K miles you lose a lot of buyers, above 250K, even more. It would have to be no rust to want more. Most dieselheads are looking for low mileage for these cars. The only thing you can't replace in these cars are miles.

Even the time traveling Delorean can't do that.

I personally don't trust the odometers in these cars. They are too easy to roll. If the car is mechanically sound and aestically pleasing then its value should speak for itself. I feel 3,000$ is acceptable.

Go for it bud!

A carfax will verify if it is reasonably close.

Yup. I'd gladly take faded paint over rust. Which I did, my 300E has some faded paint on the hood/trunk because it was a Nevada car up till 2 years ago. No rust though! Wonderful!

Very rare if you ask me. Not sure how the mounting hardware works, if it can be easily added to a non-equipped wagon, but you could probably fetch good money for it alone. Does the cargo cover work too?

Palamino or the lighter beige color?

The way it mounts is pretty interesting. There's just a metal plate on the back of both rear seats with 2 holes on each. The cargo roll has a hook for one hole and a rotating retainer clip for the other.... very easy to remove.

It's palomino, and yes the cargo cover and net both work like new.

Well guys, she's gone!! I took the $3k.

Is there such a thing as seller's remorse? That wagon was my first Merc. She will be missed!

I was tempted to cancel the whole deal right there at the end... Oh well. Hopefully my next Merc will be as awesome.
