Drivers door lock, can't push key all the way in
I’m the proud owner of an 87 300SDL that is having problems locking and unlocking the driver door with the key. It seems like there is something inside the door lock that isn’t allowing the MB original key from locking and unlocking the door. I’m having problems pushing the key into the lock. It want go in all the way without a fight. I’ve attempted to spray some graphite into the lock. But it didn’t help much. How difficult is it to repair/ can I replace it with out having to use a different key. I’ve looked into the lock and there isn’t anything I can see blocking my way. I’ve replaced the window motor so I know it’s not a problem to get to the inside door lock equipment, but there has to be something I can do to repair these problem. Because if I do nothing, I’m going to have to walk around to the passengers side door to lock the car.
Thanks for the help.

Just remove the lockset and take it to a lock smith. He can fix it so your key works. Not hard to remove from the door.
