water in the cabin?

So, today I was driving to Daytona and I had the AC and it was raining and I noticed some water was dripping on my left ankle from above(resting foot on dead pedal)

the same for my passenger(left ankle)

The SDL had its windshield replaced so I am thinking who ever did it sucked at their job because not only is the glue job horrible but I think the windshield is leaking or maybe the drain for the heater core is blocked?

ideas?

I am pretty sure the AC drain is right above there and can drip down if it breaks, its one of those stupid foam doohickeys.

For your left foot:

Its either the windshield or rust in the corner where the hood spring resides (again this is from W123 experience).

My mind is on this because I had the exact thing happen to me today. If the windshield is a crappier aftermarket one then that could be part of the problem - my glass guy said that the cheaper aftermarket glass has more rounded corners (how do you suppose i know this you ask? ) , which makes for a larger gap for the gasket to seal. It gets stretched too much over it, and cracks, and voila...lake Daimler in your back seat area.

Remember the special sealant for when you buy the gasket from the dealer Good luck if your DIYing.

Feel your pain...

Can't drilling into the metal lead to rust?

Yes, unless you treat and seal the edges of the hole absolutely perfectly. Otherwise the exposed metal will begin rusting quickly....

As for the water in the car, its the A/C drain tube(s)....they are junk and crumble, so the condensation is collecting in the car. They will need to be replaced to solve the issue.

My A/C is long dead, so I don't care if my hoses are shot.

In fact, while I have my motor out during my trans swap currently....I am going to remove the A/C compressor entirely.... I wish I could find an industrial AIR compressor to mount in its place....then set up a holding tank, and switch the car over to air brakes..... ok maybe not...

anyone have a picture or diagram where they are?

Hatty took care of the car and there is no rust in the hinge area. I am just weary of the windshield job, its probably the AC drain soo soon as I get a pic or decide to rip out the bottom half of the dash I'll know.

No its not the AC drain I changed those, besides those are on the sides of the center console.

Its probably coming from the drain under the windsheild. Take the wiper arms off and remove the plastic under the windsheild. You will see one of my fixes on the drains. Mercedes messed up their.

You probably need to shoot some sealent in between the plastic and sheet metal, and maybe extend the lip a bit more.
