my 95 300e has a hydralic tank location next to the abs control on the inside of the drivers side front fender.
since i haven't had time to purchase a manual can anyone tell me what it is for and if it needs service??

Automatic rear level control (unless you have a full hydraulic suspension). No maintenance as long as the rear doesn't sag when you load it, or ride like the suspension is locked up.

Check the level. If it is low, please use only the special MB oil -- $15.00 or so a quart. ATF will cause problems.
