Oil in Wastegate:

My 617.950 uses very little oil; only about (1) quart every 3,000 miles or so. However, like most 617's, it does produce an oil vapor out the crankcase breather when running . I am addressing this in Dad's 617.952 by having Total Seal modify the new MBZ second rings, making them gapless.

On my 617.950, the wastegate has a sqaure hole in it that sometimes releases a dop or two of oil onto the RH motor mount. Has anyone tried using an oil separator in this circuit????

Your thoughts and accounts are appreciated...Robert

My engine's oil return pipe from the air cleaner is broke off, so it just drips down the motor/onto the ground. And the vapor comes out from under the cleaner.

I see it as an anti-rust lubrication system, and it really does work! My P/S leaks a little too, but it keeps everything coated with oil and stops rust.

Thats what the one before the turbo is for. Some amount of oil in the wastegate housing is normal and unavoidable since its the lowest point in the intake system.
