I've read the threads regarding adjusting the ALDA and boost on the 5cyl mid 80's engine but does anyone have tips on enhancing performance on the 6cyl TD?

If you have a 3.5L and it is running well and not using too much oil just enjoy it. Keep the oil change interval religously and do not let it overheat. Your car has some of the best S class diesel performace the factory ever offered. I'm sure you've heard about the potential problems unique to the 3.5L engine. The one tip that I wold offer is to look into blocking off the EGR. Some people speculate that ingesting too much of its own exhaust lead to some of the problems. There is a member here "old south" that has a later model 3.5L that might point you in the right direction.
