300sd bowden cable

I just purchased a 1980 300sd w116. As many of you know, now the process of sorting through and fixing things begins. One of the first things I noticed was that my bowden cable or rod in this case seems to catching on some of the other parts of my linkage on the valve cover causing the car to idle high and probably messing up my shifts a bit. Is there a clip or something that holds the bowden cable in a certain postion to prevent this?
