1987300sdl will not turn off

Hello out there. I have a 1987 300 sdl that will not turn off with the ignition key. I have to raise the hood and push the emergency stop. I have done a search with no luck. Can some one out there help please? Thanks in advance. Jack

The vacuum shutoff valve has probably gone south on you. Since you have a SDL you probably have a Miti-vac. Connect the miti vac to the vacuum valve and see if it's holding a vacuum (or will shut the car off). It's a in-expensive, common and simple DIY.

It looks like this on your SDL

It looks like this on your SDL
vacuum shut off valve attached to the back of the injection pump.
