What have you found under your seats?

One of the small silver linings of the otherwise unpleasent task of removing the seats is discovering change and trinkets from POs, or maybe some lost item of your own. While removing the seats from my parts donor to pass on to a friend, I found two mini sized Swiss Army knives, about $3 in quarters, and a coin from some small Caribbean island country (Grenada as I recall...can't seem to find it). I also found a memory card from my camera that I lost several years ago and looked everywhere for. After cleaning it up, it still yielded up its pictures!

Under the outer front corner of the front seat rail where a flap of carpet hides the vacuum lines there was a sweet spot on mine that seemed to be a black hole for small items. Its hard to reach, but can be seen and poked at if you remove the rear carpet and shine a light under the front seat.

Sadly, I didn't find anything when I checked my daily driver. What have you found under your seats?

LOL! That was poetically surreal.

My finds were:

dirt
a few nickels and a couple pennies
water
rust
the ground
despair

Roughly in that order.

OK, no more whining about rust! It could easily have been even worse.

Driving into Canada one time, the customs inspector found a 50 foot steel measuring tape under the passenger seat. Those things cost real money nowadays...

A neat thing I found in one of the company cars was an english pound coin.

In my Miata at an autocross a condom package slid out from under the drivers seat. I was pretty happy it did not happen when my Mrs was with me!

When I checked, I found about 85˘ in change, old peanuts, a pair of fingernail clippers, and to my wife's consternation a single large, topaz earring (that did not belong to my wife). It took some time to convince her that it was probably the previous owner's.

She is still suspicious about that...
