Are these the good seat covers?

I went to the pic-a-part today.

They had a 560sel with these seat covers. My seats are torn up so I bought them. I have never seen seat covers this nice. Are these the "real" sheep skin seat covers I see people talking about?

If so how do I clean them. Woolite?

I also grabbed the rear seat that is mint. It is also heated and recline. I did not grab the recline stuff. Front seat were great but they wanted a little too much for them and there were 2 open cracks. Also this SEL had 3 switches above the shifter and one looked like it had a horn on it. Is that the mountain horn thing? Is this a euro car? It's an 87.

Cleaning

I have those very covers I believe, in a"natural" color. Pretty high quality, if they truly are like mine. Likely expensive. I have an LG Trom steam washer.I used Woolite and a gentle cycle and just washed them. Hung them on the line to dry. They took a while to dry, but they came out perfectly brand new looking. You could have them dry cleaned as well. I wouldn't put them through a conventional washer. Mine were quite dirty when I got the car. I almost tossed them. Glad I didn't. As retro as they look, they are comfortable. They were expensive in the 80s.

Ya when I noticed the measurements written on the backs of the pieces I knew they were hand made and very nice. My cats LOVE them. I think I will have them dry cleaned.

Sheep "Skins"

Sheep skins have "skin" on the backside! I've got a couple pairs for 126 seats, and one for 124 seats and all three pairs are actual sheepskin aka leather on the back sides. I know one 126 set and the 124 set where purchased through MB dealerships. One way to figure out if something synthetic is to take a small piece and burn it, synthetics melt and stink like plastic and leather doesn't. You can also do this with a red hot pin or needle on a hidden area for something like a seat or arm rest for instance.

The other option is get them a tad wet. I got a set 10 years ago for about 300 bones and lived in the desert and they were great. I relocated to a wet climate and smelled like a sheep. And oh by the way I'm not into sheep. I'm back in the desert again so I put them on my MB and they are good again. I had mine dry cleaned. Just don't fall in love if they are real.

ya there is skin on the back. But the dry cleaning chemicals stink so bad I am going to have to put them in the wagon to dry.
