Leaking oil cooler lines

Can anybody advise me on what to do with leaking trans cooler lines? Haven't been able to find non dealer inventory as of yet. It's getting bad and I'm going to have to fix them soon.

Thanks.

Where are they leaking? I've fixed leaks in metal transmission cooler lines win the past with rubber hose and hose clamps.

Did you just get new hose and clamp them onto the original connectors?

Do you think its possible to have new lines made with the existing connectors? Or is this just overkill?

Thanks Kerry.

I cut the line at the leak and slid the hose over the metal line.

Considering that an OEM hose can be had for around $12, it's overkill.

To replace the rubber hose on the Transmission Cooler Hoses you need to file or grind off the crimped on sleeve.
However, having done this before on other vehicles I learned that you have to use real Oil Cooler Hose to do the job; the fuel line I used lasted about 2 weeks and started leaking. And, of cours you need to use hose clamps.

I replaced it with real Oil Cooler Hose and that ended the problem.

With the Mercedes not knowing what size hose I was going to need; I just wanted to change them and get it overwith and I bought 2 factory made ones.
