Euro Headlights

I need to buy new headlights for my '87 W124 since I wrecked the front end. I would really like to buy some euros, but not sure if this is in the ballpark price-wise. I'm sure they're Depo's but look good to me. Advice?

I just bought those a few weeks ago... Not really impressed with the quality, but they fit pretty good. you will have to eliminate the headlight wiper. I got the set with the clear corners, and it looks MUCH better. They are DEPO lamps. Im having a wiring problem with mine, however. I matched all the colors, even referred to my MB owners bible. Turn signals on the dash illuminate as soon as I turn the headlights on..... Still havent figured it out.. Probably my bad install and not the lamps..

The stock lights on the 94 and 95 E-Class look fantastic. I wouldn't replace them until its necessary. If you do change them stick with real bosch units.

I used a pair of W123 Depots for a while until I found the real thing. Their glass is fine, their bodies are thinner than Bosch or Hella, and their electrical stuff is inferrior - thin and poor connections. But they look great.

Be careful with these fleabay store guys. His advert says "MERCEDES W124 85-93 E CLASS EURO SPEC HEADLIGHTS OEM 92" and then below it says "half cost of OEM." So is it OE or isn't it? He sort of gives himself away.

Where did you get the 6 hole plug? I bought the wiring "adapter" and it looks like sh**. Just a bundle of wires. I have access to a 124 at pick n pull, where on the car can I find those? Or should I just buy them at the dealer?

The correct plug is the 6 hole connector that is used on 124 tail lights. They are also used under the hood on 123 and 116 cars for various electrical connections.

The 124 used 8-hole connectors on the driver's side tail-lamp from '90-up, but there are other 6-hole connectors under the hood and in HVAC.

I wish there was a PnP around here, but the nearest one is like 150 miles away. Does Phil have them?

If you are asking about the plugs here, i may have an extra set. If so, $8 and I will put them in a bubble wrap envelope and drop them in the mail.

Bosch or Hella lights is the only way to go, why put cheap chinese lights on an older mercedes, the thing to do is wait for a nice used set, i scored 2 sets in the past 8 years, one set was craigslist, a guy had bought a brand new Bosch set from performance but then sold the car my cost was $350 not bad, i think they go for like $700, the next set i got form a salvage yard, a nice w124 had been totaled and the lenses were cracked my cost 30 for the pair!
it turns out i had a pair of Bosch lenses sitting around for years so voila!!
Lenses were 60 a piece.
Save your money there are good lights out there to be had.

I would also suggest going for Bosch brand. That's what my brother put on the '87 300D I currently have. Another brother of mine got some Depo's for his 190D and they were crap from day 1. My brother bought the Bosch ones from Adsitco and we're completely satisified with them. They currently have them priced at just under $450 for the set which includes new amber side markers and everything needed for installation. They really do help clean the front up! Here's mine:
