the return of SQUASH!

i'm doing a n/a 240d 4spd manual to a n/a euro 300d 4spd manual conversion over the next month. i have most of the parts, but looking for a more detailed shop manual for a reference. i've got a haynes manual and looks rather easy -BUT- not sure if it's lacking key details. looks reather simple not having to deal with turbo stuff. a check list style would be perfect and any advise.

There is a lot of info on doing the swap. been done many times.

I just replaced my auto for a 4-spd manual last April. there are some hoops to jump through, but for the most part, plug and play.

Do you have the complete eng and 4-spd trans from the euro? If you do, you will have the 617 flywheel, very rare. most of us use the 240D flywheel, that`s all there is.

If you have the euro 5cyl and 4-spd, grab the driveline,, as there will be no cutting and balancing issue.

this is one that was helpful to me.

I don`t think there is a manual on doing the swap, this forum will be your best resource.

How did I miss the glorious impending return of the Squash???
The engine swap will be very easy. I imagine the biggest issue will be some wiring differences and that pesky exhaust system connection point which I imagine will be a bit different???
Did you get the engine and tranny from Don or just the engine? Did you get the driveshaft too?
I need to call Don because I need a tranny to put into China. This 3rd gear grinding is driving me crazy.
Have you completely recovered from your bike accident?
And more importantly, have yall had that baby yet???

he will make me a deal on the transmission if you want me to ask him. he doesn't want to have to seperate 'em -labor. i'm going to pick it up in a week or so. the wife is due anyday. i might try to go next weekend. he was saying $300ish. maybe i can get him to come down with taking it as a unit. i'll call him in a few days.
