smelly mess
So apparently the seal on my fuel cap went bad, and I have leaked diesel into my trunk carpet. Anyone with suggestions that are short of cutting it all out? And do I need to wash anything in particular?

Probably your "fuel filler neck grommet", easy too replace and will keep fuel :eek:from getting into your trunk. Also there is a drain in the little fuel fill compartment that you should make sure is clear.

You are going to have to pull the carpets and soak em in simple green or some such soap and then rinse; do it a few times.
Same with the trunk and then lots of airing. Hot water works better than cold Diesel smell is almost permanent if you don't really clean and rinse. Good luck. |
Many thanks, will check the grommet and start cleaning
